MAKING HISTORY

TALKING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF A COMPANY FOUNDED IN 2005 IS GENERALLY A BIT OF A STRETCH AND USUALLY NOT TOO EXCITING. BUT WHEN YOU ACTUALLY MAKE HISTORY, THAT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY.

It all started when a group of visionaries -- Aviad Maizels, Alexander Shpunt, Tamir Berliner, Ophir Sharon and Dima Rais – understood that the world of gaming was getting stagnant. Gamers were getting bored, and the market needed something beyond just me-too cool to revitalize it. Already leaders in the tech world, our group of founders knew the future of gaming (and beyond) was in Natural Interaction.

We started with a skeleton running in early 2006 through the use of a 3D sensor. That helped us set up all of the different parameters for the living room domain, and see and explain what's possible. Eventually (and we're skipping a lot of details to make this concise), this led to Prime Sense being selected to work on Project Natal, which would eventually become Microsoft Xbox Kinect.

Prime Sense Natural Interaction soliutions power Kinect, the fastest selling consumer device ever with over 8 million units sold in its first 2 months on the market. That's an actual Guinness World Record. Not bad for a start up.

But before the record-breaking achievements, we had partners who believed in our abilities and technology. Venture capital firms Genesis Partners and Gemini invested in PrimeSense, They took a leap of faith — and of course they're just very smart — and gave us the backing to be able to break those records.

Our ultimate goal is "for humans and devices to live seamlessly side-by-side, so that we don't have to do anything special for devices to work," says Aviad Maizels. We plan on making more history by changing the way we all interact with digital devices, in your living room and around the world.
